Ghislain Gouraige, Former Trustee and Parent of Alumni
Twenty years as a Ransom Everglades parent have given Ghislain Gouraige a broad perspective on the school and the unique role that Ransom Everglades plays in Miami. With a strong commitment to family and community involvement, he embraced an active role at RE when his eldest child, Gaelle, became a Raider in 1998. Thanks to his experience on numerous local boards, Ghislain could see that Miami nonprofits – including Ransom Everglades – could benefit from building their endowments through planned giving, and he agreed to serve as a founding member of the Marie and Edward Swenson Society to launch that effort at the school. His efforts have helped the society create a generous reservoir of support for the school.
For Ghislain and his family, giving to RE is a priority, and naming Ransom Everglades in his will is one of the ways that the family shows its deep gratitude to the school. It is part of their plan to secure Ransom Everglades’ future. “Our four children benefitted from an incredible education, and we believe in leaving a legacy to guarantee that a Ransom Everglades education is available for generations of Miami’s children.”
