Agustin “Konky” Arellano ’90

It’s no surprise that Agustin “Konky” Arellano ’90 has been leading the charge with RE’s Alumni Board. He considers his time at Ransom Everglades “six of the most important years of my life” and is dedicated to giving back to the school. He made his first big “splash” during the campaign to build the Ansin Aquatic Center, where the Arellano family donated one of the pool lanes.

Since then, he has invested countless hours and personal support to ensuring that Ransom Everglades can continue to enroll Miami’s top students, regardless of their financial situation. Konky’s interest in the future of the RE community extends to including a generous commitment for scholarship support, made through his living trust. “The more I know about Ransom Everglades, the more I want to give,” he shared. “Through the planned giving program, I can easily make a gift through my estate to support an institution that means so much to me.”

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida. Ransom Everglades School produces graduates who "believe that they are in the world not so much for what they can get out of it as for what they can put into it." The school provides rigorous college preparation that promotes the student's sense of identity, community, personal integrity and values for a productive and satisfying life, and prepares the student to lead and to contribute to society.
